The Eve of Sephonono

Tomorrow is a big day—one of those rare moments in an artist’s life when everything feels like it has been building quietly, steadily, lovingly… toward a soft sunrise.

The Media and Stakeholder Event to mark the official release of my new album Sephonono is finally here.
And tonight, on the eve of it, I am allowing myself a moment to breathe.

For months years , Sephonono has been living inside me like a secret. A beautiful one.
We recorded, refined, worried, celebrated, second-guessed, and then smiled at how the music insisted on being exactly what it wanted to be.

And then, a few weeks ago, we released it quietly onto the streaming platforms—just like whispering a song into the world and watching who turns to listen.
I am still humbled by how many of you heard it.

Tomorrow, though, feels different.
This is the moment we step into the light.

What Today Looked Like

Today was not glamorous. It was a day of lists, calls, tiny details, and making sure everything is in place:

  • Finalising the programme
  • Checking the sound, visuals, and the flow of the event
  • Preparing the little touches that make people feel welcomed
  • And yes, sipping tea while thinking, “Did we forget anything?”

It feels strange how normal the day was, considering how important tomorrow is.
But perhaps that is the gift of experience: you learn to stay calm even when your heart is dancing.

What I’m Feeling Tonight

Excited.
Nervous in a gentle, human way.
Proud.
Grateful… deeply grateful.

Grateful to the media who will join us.
Grateful to the stakeholders who have walked this journey with me.
Grateful to the musicians, producers, and friends who poured themselves into this album.
And grateful to everyone who has streamed Sephonono, shared it, and reached out with love.

But I am also grateful for the quiet right now.
This soft evening, before the spotlight comes on.
This little pause, where an artist sits with her art and remembers why she made it.

What Tomorrow Means

Tomorrow isn’t about glitter or performance.
It’s about connection.
It’s about letting people step into the world of Sephonono
its softness, its honesty, its womanhood, its hope.

It’s about celebrating music made with intention,
music that honours stories,
music that honours where I come from
and who I am becoming.

Tonight, I rest.
Tomorrow, we gather.
And Sephonono begins its journey into the world properly—not as an album on streaming platforms, but as a living conversation between me and you.

Thank you for walking with me.
Let’s meet tomorrow.
Let’s celebrate music, memory, and meaning.
