Sephonono crosses the Border

“Sephonono” is now within reach of South African radio

By Nnunu • 7 February 2026

I wrote “Sephonono” to honour the quiet joys that steady us—the small, golden moments that make a life feel whole. Today, I’m grateful to share a different kind of joy: “Sephonono” is now available to South African radio via the SABC Music Library—ready to live in warm mid‑mornings, late‑night jazz features, and those unhurried weekend hours when the city exhales.

As I send my notes and thank‑yous, I’m personally nudging a few homes where the song feels especially at ease. In Johannesburg, Metro FM has long been a heartbeat for contemporary, soulful sounds; I’d love to hear “Sephonono” breathing there. In the same city, Kaya 959’s Afropolitan blend of jazz, soul and conversation is a natural fit for the song’s mellow pulse. And in Cape Town, Fine Music Radio, broadcasting from Artscape, cares deeply for classical and jazz; its evening and weekend jazz strands feel like home to “Sephonono.”

If you make radio programmes, I’d be honoured to be part of your listeners’ day. If you listen to radio, I hope you’ll meet “Sephonono” where you live—maybe on a drive home at dusk, or on a slow Sunday morning with sunlight on the floor.

Nnunu will be in touch soon knocking on your studio door.
